Are you having a hard time dealing with trouble today? Are you that smoldering wick or that bruised reed that the Holy Scripture speaks about? First off, this writer encourages you to read Psalm 34 today. Does your Bible sit on a shelf or on a table somewhere in your dwelling. Well if it does, or doesn't, let me tell you how I make that Sacred book meaningful in my life; in my dwelling place, although we are only sojourners here for a time.
You see, I make that Sacred book meaningful in my life by keeping it on a podium-like piece of furniture in the corner of my living room. The top is covered with a cloth, and I make it a habit to go there every day and read the Psalms and Proverbs, besides other parts of this life-giving book. I also light a candle which represents the light of Christ. Though we have tribulation in this world, we can deal with it because we trust the One Who has said: " I will never fail you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13: 5).
I know many folks who do not read the Scriptures on a regular basis, and I see the net result in their lives. Satan will always try to derail our getting closer to God, but if we have humility, then he turns to dust when we make that effort to read the Scriptures on a regular basis.
