Is it difficult to become a fisher of men? Well that depends on your disposition.
In Mark 1: 17, the Lord says, "Follow me and I will make you become fishers of men."
There is that key word, follow. Now how do we follow? Certainly we don't follow and chase after fame and fortune. We follow the Lord by prayer, fasting, thanksgiving and seeking His will in our own particular circumstances in this temporary life. We are only sojourners. Yes, of course we have to make a living, but the way we spend our free time makes all the difference.
As we attempt to follow Christ, we find ourselves persecuted because we follow His will; His ways, which are contrary to the ways of this world. But we also have a continual feast, as Psalm 36: 8 so eloquently states, "They feast on the abundance of thy house, and thou givest them drink from the river of thy delights."
When we struggle (Satan against our intellect) to acquire the Holy Spirit, we then can become FISHERS OF MEN. Folks who are lost will see and feel our peace, and they will desire that, for sure. Remember this one thing, if you remember anything today, that humility before God is the answer to all mankind's problems.
