the lights went out 8/30/2003 4:38:51 PM
Sitting here at my puter pinning a poem and I hear off in the distance the call for the fire department.. Well, it is lighting and thundering out ... of cause I was so into what I was doing I did not know until I heard the blair of the horn.. thinking there may be a fire close by I go to the door
to my amazement it is pouring rain.
Soon after that the lights flicker, so I think I better save my poem, just in case. Just in cast did not happen a moment too soon ... the lights slowly dim and Cat and I are now sitting in twilight..
Oh well, lets go find and light the candles.. I get the kitchen and the hallways lit. Then go to the spare room to dig in a box for a large three wick candle< who knows how long this will last>. Finding it I light up my bedroom.
Then thinking if this does last for some time I better eat some of the ice cream < like I need an excuse>. I fix this top heavy cone, get out a book I was reading when I still had time to read everyday. Dang I forgot to get a radio.
Back to the kitchen to get the radio, find the new head phones and climb back into bed with the pillows propped. Settle in turn on the radio, lick the cone.
At that point I look out the window at a neighbor across the street. They seem to have lights in their house or are they burning candles? Well, maybe I should try my own lights.
Well, be blessed all that setting up and the lights are back on. So I eat the ice cream, read a chapter and get back here to write. All in all a very fruitful evening...
