New poetry e-zine -- my poems are out there. 7/2/2005 7:58:50 AM
This is the first time I ever submitted my writing to an e-zine. Okay, so I got my feet wet--my writing is in cyberspace! Two days ago I got notice from The Country Mouse that their Summer edition was out and how delighted they were to have my poems. I immediately jumped onto their site...yes...everything looked good...whew! Isn't it always exciting to see one'e work in print? And these editors have been a pleasure to deal with.

I was especially pleased that "Chantale" had been picked up. Over a year ago, a print poetry journal accepted it, held onto it for a year, but it never appeared in print. When I questioned them (I'll be polite and not say who they were), they gave some bogus excuse. After a while I learned that small independent magazines expect you to buy a subscription before they publish your work. I understand their need for money, but there's something sleazy about that -- and, I had no idea my poem was in limbo! To quote the Master: All's well that ends' well.
