Me, my health, and my writing
Well, here I am after successful cataract surgery that also gained me new Toric lenses that reduce the astigmatism in each eye. Vision isn't perfect, but I don't need glasses to find my way to the bathroom at night.
I'll probably need to wear glasses for the fine print. That's okay, I've gotten used to me in glasses. I'd like to say I don't need a magnifying mouse anymore, but, alas, I still do need it.
We'll see how it goes over time as the eyes heal. Hoping vision sharpens more as time goes on.
Also am dealing with something called gastroparesis. Yeah, I never heard of it either until last May. You have to be soooo careful, or you end up puking your brains out and getting severely dehydrated. I know. I've been in the hospital more than out it feels like because of this condition. Stomach slows down to nothing, and food sits there, rotting, until you're sicker than a moose. Not fun.
Not fun at all.
Okay that's the status of my health. Now, the health of my books. I'm hoping to move on with Dream Worker today. Have some new ideas to try out. I need to get into the swing of it again, and get it done. There's likely money in it for me for this one. :) So, I need to get it done quickly.
I want to quit the cleaning business and write for a living. I know, I know . . . big dreams, right? I like to dream big.
Well, it's the start of a new year, and I have a fresh slate to write on. Goals to achieve. Maybe I'll post those here as well as Accentuate Writers' forum. Keep it in my face.
Hmmmmm . . . a new desktop theme maybe . . . really in my face!

It's quite a long time since I wrote anything in here.
The eyes are great. Only need readers. Haven't had a good picture taken of me since I had the operation though. I am happy enough with the one in my profile for now, even though it's one with glasses. What can I say--I love the hair cut I got that day. Too bad I'd have to drive 3 hours to see if I could get it again. Was four years ago . . . probably not.
I had a heart attack last year . . . wiped me out in good shape for some months. Doing better now. Always have sugar issues . . . I'm trying to do better with that too. Don't want to lose my good sight now I have it.
Also we had internet and computer issues galore. So for a while, I didn't write a stinking thing. Dream Worker is at a standstill while I work on Marooned. I'll pick that up after this, I think. I want to get it finished so I can get back to A Storm In My Heart. Sometimes I wish I were twins so I could either get two books done at once, or have my twin do the household chores while I write. :)
Ran into one of my youngest son's classmates a while ago. She remembered my coming to read my stories to the class. Still has her copy of the novel I did for their fifth grade class. When I get back to that story, she wants a copy of the new version. Says it's okay to use her name. Going to draw up a release for her to sign so it's all legal.
Now that I have a cute little granddaughter, I have a new desire to work on my picture books. Wonder how I could post a few pages of those here . . .
