I was a bit shocked to see it's been over two years since I last posted anything to my blog. I've been struggling with depression and other stuff life hurls at us. So, the writing until just lately has been at a crawl.

Some hospital stays made me decide to go for a laptop so I could work on stuff and watch the movies I wanted to watch, and not have to share a TV with the next gal over.

Don't you know--once I got that laptop, I haven't been in the hospital for an extended stay since. This summer, I enjoyed Easton's Beach in Newport with my granddaughter, and ended up burning my feet pretty badly. My son helped get them healed without having to see anyone about them. Took a while, but no infections at all in that time.

Just as I was about over that, and walking again, why, doesn't someone back alllll the way across the road [to turn left, mind you] and hit me as I'm crossing the intersecting street! Had she not heard someone yelling, "Stop! Stop! Stop!" I would not now be writing this post about it! When she did stop, her back tire was inches away from my head. She said she neither saw me nor felt anything when she hit me . . .

Fortunately, she wasn't going very fast, and all of my injuries were minor; however, those minor injuries are still trying to heal. Was told muscles take longer than bones to heal, and it could be months, even years before they're better.

Great. I want to feel better now! And as NY has a no fault law, I will probably only get my medical bills paid, and mileage to and from all medical visits related to the accident. Sure that's just wonderful, but when you aren't able to do all the things you were doing before this, well, that's not so wonderful.

Other states allow for compensation for pain and suffering no matter what. NY, nope. So, we'll see.

Anyway, I've been trying to overcome all that's keep me from getting back to the books, and finally, last week, I decided that I didn't want to wait for the money to be available for me to get another block of ISBNs. I am going to save that money for promotions, art work, covers, whatever else, so I can get my books into print. Going with CreateSpace I think. And I'll accept their ISBN. Life is too short for me to want to wait for the money for a number that's free in other countries, and are priced just about a month's rent for me. Nope, not doing it.

So, ometime this summer, my books will finally be hold in your hands, smell the paper and ink versions I hope everyone will love.

I have done rewrites and re-edits of them, so most of the mistakes, typos and other embarrassing elements are gone. Dalton's Last Stand has its new cover, but I'm not entirely happy with it. I couldn't find a stock photo of a fluffy yellow cat with big front paws. So, I went back to my cartoony yellow cat, short haired and regular paws . . . and at least got the look I wanted otherwise. If I can find someone who could draw the cat I'm wishing for, that will be awesome. I suppose I could made this cat work for all the books I'm planning, but it's just not the cat I'd hoped for.

For the romances, I'm keeping the covers I have, I think. I know it's not the show the naked skin sort of cover, but then, that's not the kind of book I write anyway. Going with flowers, rings, wine glasses and such for these books. Although flowers might not be the way to go for my third one, but we'll see.

Marooned is going through what I hope to be the final edit. And it'll be ready to go both for print and for ebook. I have the next book in this series starting to come together in my head. Seems once I finally settled on a name for Devynn's cousin, ideas began presenting themselves faster than they were when I wasn't quite happy with the first names I was going to use. She was going to be Amanda, but then I met a girl called Davina, and I liked it. Although, I am going to spell it Daveena, instead. Hmmm  . . . Deveena . . . . hmmm . . .

Anyone remember the Patty Duke show? Patty and Cathy--identical cousins? I think it's going to be a situation like that.

The next Kingsley Twins episode might be a Gramma story. Maybe also a new baby story.  Not sure if they'll happen in the same story or be two seperate episodes. I'll have to see how it goes when I start it.

And, of course, I can't forget my time travel novel for middlers and others. That story needs some more thinking, but I'd love to have that done by the end of the year as well.
