I look around at our farm. We have 220 acre of land and about seventy in clear land. If you think mowing is a problem at your place, the rain and my inability to work the hours I once did is wreaking havoc. The grass seems to grow overnight. Now most of it is weed but my philosophy is that, if it is green, I mow it and mowed it doesn't look much different than grass. Our home is on a sloped piece of land, and I can tell you that as the land erodes, it becomes a job with hazard pay. Our riding mower is not suited for slopes. It was made for flat land. Kubota did not envision anyone living in the country and mowing a mountain. So when I hit the bottom which is very steep, I pray and I hold on fast.
In my time I have burned out three mowers, turned one over, gotten stuck more times than hummingbirds, dulled innumerable blades and mowed acre upon acre. I was going up a horse trail with it when it got stuck and the only way down was in reverse. I hit the clutch and sent it backwards only to have the wheel turn and tip the mower over on me. I managed to get my foot out, right the mower and continue uphill. That was my first roll over with our first Sears mower. Two years ago I rolled over with our Kubota mower.
Since then I have purchased a bush hog for my 49 h.p. tractor and a five footer for my 29 h.p. They do not do a finish job on the grass but they cut just about anything. They tell you to buy American and I would love to but have ever noticed that the preponderance of disabled automobiles are American made? I have seldom seen a Honda or Toyota stuck. And my 2008 Honda Pilot has 218,000 miles on it and runs like a top. Never been stuck except for a flat tire. I hate to say it but American made just does not cut it. The manufacturers used planned obsolescence in two ways: one, parts wear out long before the car, and two, if you pay it off in five years, you can plan on another vehicle soon.
Planned obsolescence led to the advent of foreign vehicles and now the American manufacturers are competing for their lives. Germany bought Chrysler and they seem to be reliable. Now that is not to say that all foreign cars are vintage. Right after our accident in 1990, I bought a Jaguar, thinking that it was a safe vehicle and it was. The reason that it was safe was because it was always in need of repairs to the electrical system. I recently saw my two truck operator and he said he missed me and had not seen me in a long time. He used to come and two my Jaguar out of my garage.
America is changing and not for the better. Did you know that our educational system ranks 79th in the world? Did you that that in some states you cannot sing Christmas carols in school, bring a Bible or wear Christmas colors at Christmas time? Cashiers at Wal Mart and other locations cannot wish you a Merry Christmas because it will offend a minority of anti-Christ bigots? Someone or some group of people is determined to take Christ out of Christmas.
One man in California had the courage to fight back and i would strongly recommend you purchase the DVD of Last Ounce of Courage. I fight back by avoiding Wal Mart especially at Christmas. I vote for people who stand for what I stand for. And you can fight back in your own way. Send yours kids to Christian schools. If stores won't allow their employees to wish you Merry Christmas, then shop where they do.
Those you stand against Jesus do so on the grounds of the Constitutional mandate of separation of church and state. But our forefathers did not intend it the way liberal judges and politicians are painting it. They meant there would be no state founded religion as there was in England. They never intended taking Jesus out of schools because they were all Christian men. They never intended to outlaw the Bible for the same reason. Men die for our freedoms and they die in distant lands to protect it. Every day, I ask myself: What am I doing to protect my freedom?
Well, I hope some will be inspired to do the same thing. Shop a little less at Wal Mart and let them know why. If enough Christians raise their voices, the irreligious who wish to eliminate Jesus will be overshadowed. I can just see Jesus sitting on a throne and looking at an atheist and asking: "Am I real enough for you now? Guess where you are going?"
Can't happen here? Did you ever think we'd have a Muslim President? Did you ever think our President would disgrace us by having sex in the oval office? How disrespectful. And now his wife wishes to be President. What corruption will she bring to the White House? Anyone recall how she raided Vince Foster's office and cleaned out his files? Anyone recall how Big Bill sold classified information to the Russians?
And where does Hilary get all her contributions for her campaign? Tens of millions in contributions. What do the contributors want to buy?
If there is a punishment awaiting us, it will be the election of Hilary and her cronies.
