Is Pat Robertson any different than the mullahs who we condemn for spreading hatred?

In America, we have the right to express an opinion on any subject. But, when an influential TV evangelist advocates murder, that would appear to be stretching the limit of freedom of speech.

Fortunately, most real Christians chastised Robertson's calling for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and even Bush distanced himself from this lunatic who has been a long-time supporter of our esteemed "leader."

How can a man who dares to call himself a Christian advocate murder? It doesn't sit well with the teachings of the Prince of Peace. But, then, it should be a reminder of how many times in the past fundamentalists have spawned hatred and violence and continue to do so in the name of Christianity, Islam and other religions.

Allegedly, the U.S. government no longer sanctions assassinations, though there's evidence our hands were not always clean in the past.

As for Chavez, he was democratically elected by his people and, as leader of his country, has every right to condemn imperialism and terrorism as he sees it. Methinks we have a few worse enemies out there.
