Comment on the first of the Kerry-Bush Debates If George Bush had his druthers last night he would have chosen to be elsewhere.
Throughout the debate, he appeared distracted, often annoyed and - at times - even bored.
John Kerry, on the other hand, was formidable! He clearly and emphatically articulated his position. No sign of waffling here. He was solidly presidential throughout. He didn't back down from a single question but was forthright and strong and the effect on Dumbya was readily apparent.
Bush gave us the same tired rhetoric he's been spouting for four long years. On a number of questions, he danced around the issue without giving anything more than spin. He evaded answering some important questions and didn't appear to understand some others. It's time he faces reality - preferably back in Crawford.
