Going to Iraq was a mistake. That's borne out by the exposure of the chicanery that got us there in the first place.

That said, no one can question the courage and skill of our troops.

Nor do I dispute the bravery of the Iraqi people.

The problem with the war from the start is that its promoters have no combat experience and weren't prepared to listen to those who did. You doubt what I say?

W hid out in the National Guard when that was the place to go when you didn't want to fight (the opposite of the present situation).

The coward Cheney (all mouth and no courage) - five deferments and he publicly stated on more than one occasion he had more important things to do than serve in the military.

Rumsfield? No combat experience.

Wolfie? No military experience period.

The list goes on.

In ancient times, kings went to war at the head of their troops. Can you imagine this crew in combat? Easy to say "bring it on" and "stay the course" when you're not the one being shot at.

I'll believe they're serious and not hypocrites when their kids are in harms way.
