Why O'Bama Shouldn't Be President 6/25/2008 5:25:32 AM
But then we're so used to George lying and twisting facts around for 7 1/2 years, maybe it doesn't matter. This is one of the most crucial subjects facing our country this year. Since the people have voted overwhelmingly for Barack O’Bama, and the Democratic Party is behind him 100%, the question being asked by most learned critics is: Is O’Bama the best choice to run for president? Herein lays both pros and cons in hopes of assisting each voter in the task of making a final choice, starting with the reasons why O’Bama is not the best choice.
First of all, any man running for the office of the president of the U.S. of America does not dishonor his country. O’Bama did just that when he was photographed showing him without his hand over his heart while the U.S. national anthem was being played. He’s also removed his flag button from his lapel. Both actions clearly demonstrate that he shows no honor for the United States. He’s also willing to gain the office at any cost; read on.
Barack O’Bama, also known as Barry to his friends and several legislators, made a speech in Selma, Alabama, during which time the story of his background was laced with lies and deceit. Taking advantage of the worst day in Selma history, known as Bloody Sunday, he fabricated a speech to impress his constituents. On that day, `600 African-Americans were fired on by heavily armed state troopers when they crossed the Edmund Pettis Bridge during their march to the state capitol in Montgomery’. In his speech, O’Bama claimed his parents crossed that bridge in 1965, coming from opposite directions, and met in the middle; shortly afterward he was born. O’Bama was born on August 4, 1961 in Hawaii, not 1965, and not in Selma, Alabama. His deceit, however, is not limited to Selma.
In 2002, one year before announcing his candidacy for president of the United States, O’Bama had this to say about the war in Iraq. ` “I am not opposed to all wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars," he said. "What I am opposed to is the cynical attempt by Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz and other arm-chair, weekend warriors in this Administration to shove their own ideological agendas down our throats, irrespective of the costs in lives lost and in hardships borne. I know that even a successful war against Iraq will require a U.S. occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences." O’Bama continued, "I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al-Qaeda’."
O’Bama spent most of his campaign criticizing Hillary Clinton for voting for the war. However, in 2007, he had this to say: At a speech given at Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars in Washington, D.C., O’Bama wanted `at least two more U.S. combat brigades to be sent to Afghanistan to fight Al Qaeda, saying in the absence of more action from the Pakistani leader in the fight against terrorists, the U.S. would step in’. He said that he wanted troops withdrawn from Iraq and redeployed into Afghanistan and Pakistan — `with or without the permission of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf’. Barack O’Bama also mentioned a few things he’d so as Commander-in-Chief, such as increase non-military aid to Iraq by $1 billion, an oil rich country whose budget has been in the black for a long time now. After her campaign in Indiana, Hillary Rodham Clinton ran ads proposing a suspension of the federal gas tax over the summer when citizens travel more on vacation. O’Bama attacked her proposal, calling it ‘political pandering’. However, please take note of an article about O’Bama released in 2000 by CBS News. `CBS News says O’Bama voted for the temporary lifting of the tax three times in the state Senate. The tax holiday was finally approved during a special session in June of 2000, when Illinois motorists were furious that gas prices had just topped $2 a gallon in Chicago. The moratorium lifted the state's 5 percent sales tax on gasoline through the end of 2000’. Political Pandering he claimed when Clinton proposed the same moratorium. Next, a question regarding O’Bama’s alleged lack of racism.
Barack O’Bama was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ for an alleged twenty years. However, the time element proves it was more like sixteen years. He joined before he was married. When he met his wife, they were married in the church and his children were baptized there. Recently, his minister the Rev. Wright began exhibiting much anger against whites and denounced them in his church. The question is: Did Wright’s rages continue throughout the sixteen years O’Bama attended or are these rages caused by a form of old age dementia? If the rages continued for sixteen years, why did O’Bama and his family remain in their pew and listen? Has O’Bama’s views on racism been tainted by Wright? O’Bama recently resigned from the church. Shouldn’t he have resigned when Wright’s rages began? Following are opinions on why O’Bama should be elected president.
A man with a brilliant mind should be president of the U.S. O’Bama certainly fits the category. In 1983, he graduated from Columbia University with a Major in Political Science. In 1991, he received a Law Degree from Harvard and graduated Magna Cum Laude. As a Junior Senator from Illinois, sworn into office on January 4, 2005, O’Bama became involved in many government committees. For instance: `Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee;
Foreign Relations Committee; Veterans Affairs Committee; during 2005 and 2006 he served on the Environment and Public Works Committee’.
Conclusion: Since the reasons for not voting for O’Bama overshadow the reasons he should be president, he does not deserve to run for the office. Due to his past proven record of filling his speeches with lies and deceit, it makes some voters wonder if elected, will his time in office be a continuation of George Bush’s reign? For a recap: He’s constantly fabricated stories about Selma, Alabama; he refuses to honor our flag and national anthem; he’s performed a turnabout on his anti-war stance after calling McCain a war-monger; he’s hidden the truth about his past actions when it came to Hillary and the gas tax; he’s attended a church wrought with racism toward white America.
There are so many things wrong with his background and the claims in his speeches. It seems he’s hiding important information that, when brought out, will ruin his chances for the next election—if he gets in.
