Success in 2005
10/28/2004 4:06:21 AM

The three common traits of successful salespeopl.
Tim's latest sales ezine

There are three primary reasons why salespeople do not reach their sales goals or exceed their sales quotas every year. They are:

- Poor prospecting skills.
- Poor planning and time management
- Letting outside influences control their attitudes and success.

Ask yourself,

-Do you ever find yourself scurrying around the last quarter or thirty days of the year trying to hit your number?

-Do you regularly miss achieving or exceeding your sales goal or quota by just a small amount or a lot?

-Do you have a specific sales planning tool (not a calendar or calendar planner) that you use that consistently WORKS that ensures that you are spending time with the right prospects and in the right sales activities?

-Do you have a specific method for keeping yourself focused on the right sales activities no matter what is going on around you in your organization or the economy?

There is only one way to guarantee that next year will be everything it can be and that you want it to be. You have to have a written plan of action and you have to routinely hold yourself accountable to that plan. Period. Any other approach is doomed to leave you coming up short at the end of the year.

I have decided to make the tool that I have been using for over forty years to ensure that I achieve my sales goals available to you. I call it the Sales Success Planner. It is 60 pages that when used with commitment, dedication and honesty will guarantee that you will never again for the rest of your sales career ever come up short at the end of the year. To the contrary it will ensure that every year is a record breaking year.

Would you invest $25.00 if you knew you would get it back 1000 fold?

For the salespeople reading this who are serious about breaking sales records in 2005 and beyond I am going to make you a special offer. Order your 2005 Sales Success Planner by December 1st on my website and I will send you a free copy of my best selling book, How To Sell More In Less Time (a $15.00 value.) Just write the word ‘Time’ in the comments section to make sure you get your free book. Just go to my site at timconnor.com and check it out.

Yogi Berra said it over fifty years ago: Expecting different (better) results from repeated behavior is a mild form of insanity.

I’ll leave you with a question this week. What are you going to do better or different in 2005 that guarantees you reach or even exceed your sales goals?

What tools or approaches are you using to plan for your sales success every year. Please don't respond if you are earning less than $100,000 a year.
