The news was broken to me on Monday March 21, that a staff of the organization I work for had been crowned a king.  "A king!", I exclaimed.

"Yes, a king", my, my informant intoned.

Recently, the famous Argungu International Fishing Festival came to an end.  It was marked with the presence of the President, Olusegun Obasanjo.  Actually, the closing ceremony was done by him.

There was a lot of fun, a lot of pagentry, a lot of back slapping for a successful festival.

The bottom line for me was when Mallam Adamu Ya'u made the biggest catch that day. A 75kg fish was caught with his net.  Over 30,000 people competed for the prize.  The prize my staff and colleague won that day changed his life for good. It has to be said that Mall. Adamu is a driver in his work place.  What a luck!

He was given a Kia 18 seater bus, a cash prize of N150,000.00, an all expenses paid trip to Mecca.

In addition, a local chief promised to give him a smaller car of any brand of his choice.

I am excited about the turn around that the festival earned Mallam Adamu.
