BLOG HOGS and Time Trolls: A Quick Word 5/3/2005 8:47:40 AM
A brief thought regarding the person who recently made 83 blog posts in less than forty minutes. We need to respect our community when it comes to massive amounts of unnatural blog entries. Recently, I noticed a user who was posting confusing, ill-worded (poor English) entries every thirty seconds or so. To me they almost read like META tags or search engine terms, but upon closer inspection they did seem to have a voice behind them. But who would post in such a manner?
Between 1:13am and 1:51am the same user made 83 consecutive blog entries (one every thirty seconds or so) about seemingly nothing in particular...obfuscated issues, confusing language, a whiff of a tactical grab for attention by brute force (throwing everything and the kitchen sink up there so everyone has little choice but to notice your literary screaming).
It may just be me, but can we call this kind of user a Blog Hog?
To make things worse, the hard-to-distinguish content of the posts reminded me of what are known as "troll posts" on places like Mobog.com. In short, with troll posting, the same user sends a near endless stream of generally the same stuff, clogging up the arteries of the community.
Let's leave some space in AuthorsDen for EVERYONE to be heard. Please, if for some reason you have 83 blog entries that you need to post, don't dump them all at once. It seems very unfair.
