Focus On It
2/13/2009 8:44:22 AM

In our current age of instant messaging and information overload, each person is bombarded with literally millions of messages about every aspect of life most of which is complete and utter garbage designed to manipulate and control the attentions of people that will choose to discount their own authority and follow the trends and fads whether it is healthy or not.

Now, do something in your life to build on your strength of character.

I, personally, don't think it's easy to block out the messages of our society with all it's bizarre opinions on sex, health, money, and success, not to mention the issues of stereotyping and classifying everyone and everything. How many of us sit idly by and let crazy marketing people dictate to us what it means to be alive in this day and age? We let others tell us what it means to be white, black, chinese, female, male, over 50, under 30, rich, poor, healthy or sick. We let Oprah create a culture that is an illusion for most people, we let Dr. Phil make judgements that control people's lives and discern for us what is right or wrong.

What is up with that?

We are confused. Maybe not everyone but most people don't really excercise any authority over their own personal life. Say these words out loud . . .Personal Authority . . . what does that mean to you?

Anyways . . .

The point is only you can actually build yourself up the way you want to for the benefit of yourself and your loved ones.

You are the only expert in your own life.

For what that's worth . . . I say affirmations to remind myself that while I am in this world (this society) I am NOT of it.

My affirmation for today is . . .

I am joyful in maintaining my own good health and well being.
