Just wanted to come here and ask the Universe if I'm ever going to get this book finished?
Everytime I go to do "the final edit" I find something major that I want to rework which adds another fricken month to my publishing day. Argh!
If you can believe this, I actually passed up a great publishing deal with a damned fine traditional publishing company because I wouldn't release the book to them when they wanted it. Of course, they are to big for my fussing and said if I ever get it done I can call back but they're filling up their publishing list quota so I might miss out.
Am I being a perfectionist? Am I being stupid about it? Part of me says let the work go and it will do whatever it wants out there in the real world. Other parts are telling me to do the very best I can possibly do if I really expect people to pay their hard earned money for my work. The centered me tends to agree with both points of view.
