The Process that Really isn't 3/8/2006 2:51:41 PM
The title really sums things up perfectly. Writing Poetry isn't really much of a creative process for me, as I humbly believe truly good poetry is. It comes from the Heart or Soul (capitalisation intentional), never the brain, and is often deceivingly simple. I write poetry when I am inspired to. Sometimes I will be meditating and lines start popping into my head, sometimes I'll be doing Yoga, and a poem will just flow out from my soul, which is how "River of God" was written. Sometimes, I'll just be walking around doing nothing in particular and lines of verse just start running through my head. Possibly my most unusual inspiration so far has been the piece that is currently untitled, about the need for the solidarity of humankind. I woke up this morning and this was running through my head literally from the second I became conscious after waking up.
