Ok Ok...Let me tell you something you negative people! I've been hearing a lot about Print on Demand books and self published books and the like and frankly, I'm getting a little annoyed about the whole thing. Why? Well, it certainly has nothing to do with the fact that I'm a good writer. I'm not being modest when I say that either. I know I've a long way to go on this writing journey just like the rest of you; however, it boils my blood to hear others bash the good writing that self published authors and authors who decide to use other venues for thier writing have to go through. Why wouldn't they? Perhaps it isn't about fame and fortune why they decide to use these other methods of getting published, perhaps it is a calling from the good Lord above and you know, when he calls us to use our "gifts", he doesn't say, "Now, you know so and so over there got thier book published by XYZ publishing company and they are popular and you're not a writer unless you get in with them". He doesn't say that, at least not to me he doesn't. What he does tell me is that my gift is to be used and if I'd like to self publish then I should, and after all, if he has perfect faith in my writing abilities that he gave me in the first place for his glory, then gosh darn it, why on earth would I have any reason to doubt that my book, whether it be a Print On Demand or a Self Published accomplished piece be any different from those who decided to go it some other way? There are great publishing companies out there who give a million aspiring writers the ability to see thier great works in print. What makes one a good writer? I think it is whether or not you can express what you're feeling or what your character is feeling. Sometimes, for me, my life experiences helps me get in my character and brings him/her to life. To me, having a great vocabulary is one issue of many that makes up a great novel. You have to have some spunk in there too. Oh, and by the way, here are a list of the self published authors who are quite known. Some of you will say, yeah, well...they are dead...and your point would be? At any rate,
being a Christian is extremely difficult in a sea of negativity. Sometimes, I feel as if I'm being bogged down by all the negative people who just want something to complain about...blah blah blah...be quiet you negative people and let us positive people get on with it already!
We have enough grief hearing you say we have to live up to your standards as it is, don't expect us to try to, we have our own standards and they are good enough for us because they are good enough for our Father. God Bless You ALL! By the way, this doesn't mean I don't love you...because I do...I just don't like your negativity. Peace and Love,
