Poetry Accepted for Anomalous Appetites 9/17/2008 1:15:46 PM
Updates on my submissions, what's been accepted/rejected and from which market(s). Hey Folks,
I hope the summer has been treating you well and that you are enjoying life to it's fullest. I have been - in my own way: writing.
Earlier, I told you about a new anthology for dark poets and artists. Now I am proud and very thrilled to let you know that I have finished most of my poems for submissions and, after submitting 5 of them, I have received 3 acceptances, 2 hold requests and 1 rejection so far.
The accepted poems are:
"Man of the Night"
"Mona Lisa Smile"
"Rose of Sharon"
They are all horror pieces, as that's my main genre (for those of you not familiar with my work).
The fabulous John Irvine is the editor (he has a page here on AD, also--look him up and check out his links/works) and I know he would be delighted to receive poetry and art submissions from any of you who are into the speculative fields (your work does NOT have to be horror, it can be ANY form of speculative work).
This is the third anthology that I've had work accepted for this year and I'm stoked, to say the least! The other 2 anthologies are The Black Garden edited by Christopher Allan Death of Corpulent Insanity Press and Northern Haunts edited by Tim Deal of Shroud Publishing. These anthos will have my short horror stories "To Feed the Little Children" and "Self Employed" respectively.
Now for the other rejection:
NewMyths magazine rejected one of my poems ("My Haunted Hell") saying that it left him (editor) bewildered...hmmm... I don't think that's a good thing for an editor to feel after reading your work. I'll have to rework that poem maybe.
