this the way I see it! Good people everywhere!
Self-righteousness I suffer,
My own of course,
I thread that water,
Weary are my feet,
My soul, turning that wheel,
Over and over again,
Is there no end?
I am not going anywhere,
Don’t really want to, I think,
Or do I?
From now on, I shall be more considerate,
Kinder, colour the truth a bit, to assuage,
Tender souls give more comfort,
Not cause undue pain,
Just a second, hold on, what did you,
Did you just strangle that little pooch, and kitten,
You what, do that for a living, you’re making slippers,
And the people I talk to buy them, your kidding aren’t you?
Shit here I go again forgive, or course it’s not you, it’s me,
You’re what to busy, having supper, oh barbeque,
That steak, you don’t know, you don’t want to know,
See what I mean? I fall back into myself all the time,
You support the war, revenge, killing other children,
Which part of the good book do you read?
No not that one, turn the other cheek,
Oh I see, when it’s convenient, I see a convenience religion,
Shit, why couldn’t I have thought of that?
How stupid of me, here I’m beating myself up,
Over what, a bit of self-righteousness, darn!
Let me start again, damn all those,
That speaks out of both sides of their mouth,
Don’t like child abuse, but bomb the shit out of them,
Don’t like animal abuse, but eat factory farm stuff,
Don’t like innocent animals hurt, but support vivisection,
So that they can live another day, those glory seekers
That would like to be in heaven, but not a day sooner than needed, Paradise it seems holds no furry for them,
Those that write poetry with nary a word to make the world a better place, only their own little selfish world,
That support and make film, and news, and sit in high offices,
Shitting on us, those that make laws for the majority only, because they know better, and worst of all those self-righteous
People like me, that can’t keep their mouth shut.
