I am a product of the baby boomer generation like so many others in this wonderful country. In the 1940’s, my dad served this country with pride and was lucky enough to come home to an America that was united and moving forward. An America full of people determined to work hard to create a place in the world where their children and grandchildren could prosper. An America that was the envy of the rest of the world. My dad’s generation succeeded.
Now it’s our turn…what are we creating for our children and grandchildren? We are again bogged down in a war we can’t win, can’t get out of, and never should have gotten into. (Remember Vietnam?) The citizens are not united and we are disliked by most of the world and trusted by no one. It appears that we have an administration that is by far the most corrupt in this country’s history, and has failed on every front. We have lost a large percentage of jobs, the number of people living in poverty has increased, and our deficit is the largest in the history of the world. Have we forgotten what my dad and the many thousands like him fought for? Have we become so complacent that we just don’t care anymore? Are you proud of the America we have created for our children and grandchildren to inherit?
