I joined Authorsden in December 2001 with one aim only; to give my book a platform for publicity.

I am not very good at publicity. My book was published in January 2001 and was virtually invisible on the "virtual bookshelves" of the "virtual superhighway." I did not write and publish the book with commercial success in the forefront of my mind, but that does not mean that I wish it to be permanently hidden from the public. I realised early on that in today's commercially oriented publishing world my book stood very little chance of commercial success - even a modest one - unless I was willing to get involved in serious personal publicity, directed by a publisher, who would be willing to put well oiled publicity machine behind the book.

I am not willing to play that game. Personal publicity to me is a complete anathema and therefore the only way left for me was to explore publicity through the Net and perhaps through personal recommendation. Hence my presence here at AD and also at some other sites.

When I first joined here, and after the first review of one of my articles or stories related to the book, I acknowledged the review and reciprocated.  Soon more reviews and reciprocations followed, which in turn lead on to some personal correspondences with a few fellow authors here. After a while I started to realise that if I were to continue in the same fashion I would need to spend long hours reading, reviewing and answering emails. Regrettably I cannot do that.

There are only so many hours in the day and with a rather full daily schedule I am only able to visit the Den perhaps once or twice a week and then only for very short periods of time. That allows me little more than updating my pages, acknowledging and thanking for the occasional reviews and comments.

However much I appreciate the comments and fellowship offered here - and I do indeed appreciate them very much - I am - at the present and for the foreseeable future - unable to be a more actively participating member of this community.

I am truly grateful for all the comments I received and keep receiving and wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to all who take time and trouble to read and comment and also my sincere apology for not being able to reciprocate with reviews and comments.
