Today I'm feeling like the caged bird referred to in my poem "Freedom." Why is that so? Because I want to be free to do what I believe I am placed on earth to do, and right now, though thankful for my present occupation, I am limited. I believe many artistically bent individuals go through that phase in life, where their souls scream for an... Today I'm feeling like the caged bird referred to in my poem "Freedom." Why is that so? Because I want to be free to do what I believe I am placed on earth to do, and right now, though thankful for my present occupation, I am limited. I believe many artistically bent individuals go through that phase in life, where their souls scream for an outlet for great expressions. In their mind's eye, they envision a masterpiece waiting to be created, but because of myriads of circumstances that inhibit, the masterpiece is left within the artist, a captive to the limitations the circumstances place on the artist. "O to spread my wings in freedom, no longer caged by my limitations." I encourage myself with a biblical quote "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." Yes, there is a season for freedom, there is also a season for creating the masterpiece that awaits the season of freedom. One thing I am sure, nothing remains the same. Seasons do change. It will for me, it will for you... if you, like me, at times yearn for the freedom referred to above. However, when the season changes, let us make the most of it.
