TRUMPED TRUMPS AGAIN!

Wow! It was cool to see my poem in the number one spot in the Popular Poem's Political section! My book "Seasons"is doing well...in Stores and selling.
Hey there!
C'mon right in and have a seat with me by the fire-place.
O.K.
O.K. so there' NO fire-place. (smiling)
How have you been lately?
Hope you had a really great Christmas.
I finished my book finally, and now it is in the marketing phase. Old Market Gift Shop here in Norwood is now carrying "Seasons" and I am hoping that it catches on.
There are a LOT of people through my life who have encouraged me, and so I made mention of a few of them in my book.
Also, since the book centers around the story of my niece Faith and her Acute Lymphatic Leukemia, I included some photos of her and family, and hope the book brings some strength and encouragement to those children who are dealing with cancer, and to the parents and grand-parents, and friends.
Let me tell you, it is unbelievable when a little six-year old is found to have cancer.
I mean, one minute they are so healthy, and running around, flying kites and tumbling,jumping....and then
BAM!!! They are in a hospital bed that looks WAY too big for them, and their eyes look tired and big when they look around at all the blinking lights, and a the strange beeps, and crying.
Faith got so she cringed when she saw a nurse coming with another needle. I prayed for the Lord to give her strength and a closer understanding of His love.
I knew I had to write a book, but wasn't sure how to go about it.
So I asked the Lord to please help me.
And you would not believe HOW MANY TIMES, (maybe you would?) I felt like giving up.
But God didn't give up. Little Faith never gave up.
And so after 9 months of steady writing, and re-writing, and editing, and letting it set, then praying, and travailing, then choosing photos, and FINALLY, I finished writing "SEASONS".
My mom told us a story a while back, to TRUE story, I might add, of two crows and a squirrel...and the little war they carried out in our back yard. So, I finally say down and crafted a poem about it, that I hope provokes a giggle or chuckle or two. We poets love to take everyday things and weave them into poems or stories. (Smiling)
There are a lot of poems in this book, but also a short story based loosely on one of my nephew's experience with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). If it encourages one vet out there, or helps bring understanding to a family...I will be one happy man.
