Dreams Can Come True 5/22/2009 9:07:18 AM
I am a dreamer, there's no question about that. Being a dreamer allows me to deal with the harsh realities of life without folding under the pressure. Do I have my share of trials and tribulations? Of course I do, and sometimes I can't imagine anyone elses load being heavier than mine. Then I see a person in a wheelchair go by, or a child who is disabled, and it puts my problems into perspective. I wrote this poem about how I see myself. Some may call me a dreamer,
But that isn’t a negative thing.
I dream about what may be,
What will tomorrow bring?
I believe there’s a silver lining,
In every cloud I see.
That positive energy emanated,
Comes right back to me.
There’s good in every human being,
And I try to seek it out.
Treating others, as I’d like to be,
Cause that’s what life’s about.
I live my life by the moment,
Try not to live in the past.
My sojourn here may be brief,
Who knows how long it will last?
I believe the human spirit lives on,
And the measure of our worth,
Is not about how wealthy we were,
But the good we did on earth.
