This is a tribute to Michael Jackson. A beautiful shining star that lit up the whole world. Was he perfect? Of course not. Are we? (A tribute to Michael Jackson)
Dear MJ,
Your life was never truly yours,
You didn’t have a choice.
A child star with an amazing gift,
And yet you had no voice.
You grew up in the limelight,
Throughout all your years,
You couldn’t find a place to hide,
No sanctuary for your tears.
You lived to perform, as an adult,
With the music that you loved.
The world at large will never forget,
Your trademark, one-hand gloved.
It would have seemed you had it all,
With your perfect, handsome face,
Talent like no one before you,
Of the turmoil beneath, not a trace.
But you weren’t comfortable in your skin.
And we watched you through your pain.
They ridiculed you; called you “freak”,
But they’ll never do it again.
Controversy always surrounded you,
Did you ever get used to it?
Were you able to turn the other cheek?
Did you ever really fit?
Rest in peace little MJ,
You’ve earned your place in the sun,
Know that you’ll be sadly missed,
And remembered by everyone.
