'Tis the season for frigid temperatures in many parts of the world. As for myself, there is enough static electricity in my hair to make me it look like I have a patch of African feather grass growing on top of my head. Don't be surprised if a lion emerges from between my upright bangs.
Given the fall of the thermometer, what do you find you enjoy reading more...a wintry romance where your heroine is challenged by nature and tends to look less-than-exotic in a parka and mittens, or do you like to escape and read about tropical locales?
Sometimes reading about characters that hike through the snow as you sit curled up on your couch under a blanket can make you feel all the more content.
Sometimes, reading about a room warmed by a fireplace can indirectly heat you. The cold can induce much more atmosphere at times than the tepid water of the ocean merging with the sand. Although, by late January, that tepid water is starting to sound real enticing!
What climates do you tend to enjoy reading in the winter?
