My twin daughters, who will be turning five this year, were at a talent and model search when a little boy began to annoy Heaven (the oldest twin). Heaven is extremely smart. She learns things quickly and loves to help others, but she breaks down easily when she is frustrated.
The twins and the other kids were practicing their commercial routine. The coach didn't have to give the twins any corrections because my oldest daughter, my husband, and I had trained them for weeks.
After the twins finished their commercial, the little boy began bothering Heaven. He even had his hand in her face. Was he just being a silly kid? He was well articulate and was skilled at his routine. Any how, I noticed his fascination in distracting my daughter, so I finally moved Heaven and Angel. Then she began crying uncontrollably, so I had to remove her from the room.
I went down to her level and said this. "Heaven, this is your moment. Don't let anyone take it from you. Breathe. Don't let anyone distract you. Keep focus." I know she is only four, but I still needed to tell her what was happening to her.
About an half an hour later, the father and that little boy came and apologized to Heaven. I told her to say everything was okay. Then I gave her a big hug.
Lesson A#3:
Hopefully Heaven learned that she must keep her eyes on the prize at all times and that she must forgive.
People will distract you unconsciously or consciously, and then they will apologize. We have to forgive them. Be aware of distractions so people won't cause YOU to miss YOUR blessings. The enemy will use anyone to cause YOU to mess what God has for YOU.
Heaven and Angel ended up being recognized for being one of the best models and for being photogenic. Yeah!
