Living a meek life.
Humilty
A beautiful woman
Being spat on,
Yet wiping off the shame
Through prayer and love...
Displays an act of humility.
A gentleman
Has a boss who
Yells at him
In front of others,
Yet this gentleman
Keeps his mouth closed...
He is painting a picture of humility.
An innocent child
Whose mother
Scorns and rejects him,
Yet the child
Kisses her goodnight
Every night...
That is an act of humility.
A father
Whose daughter
Sells herself for a dollar,
Yet he treats her like royalty...
His love is divine humility.
A black man
Being hated because
God made him
The color of midnight,
Yet he chooses to be kind...
He is showing true humility.
The Messiah
Was hung
Like dirty laundry,
But he opened not his mouth
Because that was an act of raw humility.
The Messiah
Was slapped
In the face
By people who
Weren’t better than Him,
Yet he kissed humanity with humility.
They laughed at him.
His heart was broken
Within Him,But he chose humility
Instead of glory.
How about you?
Have people mistreated you?
Eat humility like a delicacy
Because you are not above Christ.
If He suffered disgrace…
Who are you to complain?
Eat humility
Like it’s the last piece of cake
In this world.
If not, you will become bitter,
Sour,
Stale,
And lost.
I’ve spent my life
Fighting like David,
But now I’m learning
To receive the blows
Like Stephen,
Like Christ,
Like a true martyr.
With all my degrees,
Talents,
Style,
Kids...
With all my many blessings...
I see that I am just a brown clay
with God's treasures inside.
