What Your Doctor Might Not Tell You 12/5/2008 11:54:17 AM
My horrific experience from some test results I received from my old doctor. It all began in March of 2007. I first got a little tickle in my throat, along with a low-grade fever. At first, I thought it was the flu.
I went to the doctor, and she initially said I had an upper resperitory infection. I took all the antibiotics, but still did not get better.
After two months worth of antibiotics, breathing treatments, and so forth, she sent me to have a CT Scan of my lungs. There she discovered that I had contracted something called Pnuemonitis, which is a kind of inflammation of the lining in the lungs. At that time, they discovered some nodules in the left lung, and wanted to do a follow up in another two months. Which we did. The nodules resolved themselves.
What she FAILED to tell me at that time, was that I had increased density on some masses on my left kidney.
Well over a year later, I get copies of my old medical records from her clinic, as I needed them.
Over the summer of 2008, I was transferred to a different doctor.
I never knew about the masses on my left kidney, because the old doc never volunteered that information.
And I also found out that I had a lesion on my liver ,as well.
Talk about PANIC with a capital P!
My new doctor ordered more tests, stat, and it was over two weeks before I knew the results.
See, the old doctor had seen them on my CT Scan of my lungs, and never let me know.
I'm writing this in my blog to tell everyone: If you have any medical tests done, ASK ASK ASK, your doctor if anything other than what they tested you for showed anything else.
Thank God I don't have Cancer, but, what about others that might have something serious, and never fin out?
Please, I don't want this to ever happen to you.
