My books may not be popular, but you will always remember them when you dor read one. Some are dismayed at the lack of support from the community and the people they are trying to help. Lures such as free meals for the homeless is not always a sure fire way to attract our most vulnerable to attend our invitations to functions and events.
This is also the same with the general public. It is very difficult to gain support even though your intentions are genuine and charitable. Many people could not be bothered by what you have to say or do even though it is in their best interest to do so.
Radical methods of delivering a message often has negative results both by government and the people. Even democratic methods often fall on deaf ears. It is hard to tell which method is more successful than the other. In one way, you paint a negative picture of yourself and you organization. The other way, you are just ignored and labelled as a nusience. This too can have neagative results as well.
You can provide facts and figures to back-up your message and elighten the public about the serious nature of their inaction, but this usually has no effect either. People do not react until they are directly affected, only then do they react. Indirect effects such as wasting taxpayer dollars is not enough to cause the public to blink an eye.
Propose a needle exchange next door and there will be near volitile reactions. Everyone agrees with the concept and the need of such a facility as long as it is not in their backyard.
Trying to establish connections or working relationships within the system is also futile. It seems that radical methods of delivering a message may leave a negative reaction, but at least they are noticed. The Mr. Nice Guy approach has little to no results at all.
Those who are trying to fight homelessness are often disappointed by the lack of support and interest in social issues that already have a serious negative impact on society.
My conlusion has never wavered. People generally are lazy, self centred and ignorant by nature. My books tell it the way it is. I don't spare feelings because most people don't have any. The few that do care will defend themselves and prove me wrong, while I intend to shame the guilty or even anger them to react.
Any reaction is better than nothing. I don't care if I become public enemy number one as long as it sparks interest to our serious social issues. If you are comfomfortable wearing the badge of ignorance, be prepared to be verbally battered.
I can sleep comfortably at night for I believe that my actions and obserservations are accurate and true. If I kick you in the groin and make you squeel like a pig, there is a real good reason why I would do such a thing. People do not listen to whispers or logic. They do listen when they feel pain. I put blood to the ink and make it come alive.
My writing is capable of delivering this pain with words. My passionately driven delivery literature is not designed for the innocent, it is the weak, lazy and the ignorant in which I focus my attacks on. My words are posion tipped and are intended to cause great pain to the heart and soul of those who are guilty.
The only way to get a message accross is straight through the heart. I do not appologize for my actions or beliefs. My books are very hard to read and are emotionally disturbing for a good reason. People remember my books for years after reading them because of the emotional impact it had on their heart and soul. Good or bad, they will always remember.
People remember pain and hurt. All my books do this. They may not be very popular, but it works. The truth always hurts. People only react to negativity. The evening news on TV have great ratings because of this philosophy. Newspapers thrive of death, violence and insanity. Feel-good stories generate poor results and are often forgotten. This is human nature.
