Lost Dogs 3/30/2009 2:10:49 AM
My dog is missing. I haven't blogged lately. I've been very busy, with my daughter's drumline trips and whatnot. We did a 24 hour stint Friday for drumline, and I have been exhausted this weekend! Exhaustion stifles the creativity for me. Anyway, while we were gone, my dog disappeared. So on top of the tiredness, I have been very sad. He was the best country dog we have had! He always greeted us with a smile, and he always talked to me with grumbles every morning, I felt he was telling me his woes.
We've had him since he was a puppy, when he appeared to be a lazy, eater and sleeper. Then we moved out to the country and he became our protector. His only weakness was not giving up. He chased coyotes, other dogs, anything he felt threatened us, off the property and away. He came home with many a scar on his nose, or pieces of his ears missing. We repaired him many times. I loved him with all my heart and so enjoyed his company and smile. It's very difficult to lose a best friend. I hope he returns unharmed and it is not his end, but my intuition tells me otherwise, because he always came home before. I will surely miss him and it will take me a long time to get over this loss. I love you, Splash!
