Nocturnal to Diurnal... 6/18/2010 6:12:05 PM
‘Zeeeeep, Zeeeep, Zeeeep,’ That’s me breathing, no I’m not awake, I am fast asleep. Not really, I am wide awake but watching me sleep. I am lying face down in bed buried in a deep trance. ‘Zeeeeep, Zeeeep, Zeeeep,’ That’s me breathing, no I’m not awake, I am fast asleep. Not really, I am wide awake but watching me sleep. I am lying face down in bed buried in a deep trance. What is fascinating about it all is that I know that I can shake myself out of the trance, break the connection, but it is so mesmerizing that I clamp up. I watch dumbfounded as who isn’t me but still me in spirit climbs atop my back and presses my neck deep into my pillow. The pain is maudlin and I squelch the brazen cry that nearly escapes as I watch the scene before me wondering in shock and horror. My head is squashed into my pillow, my hands have a strangle hold of my neck. No these are not my hands but my spiritual hands. Now I am dumbstruck, motionless and physically dead with fear. The coldness and strength of these hands on my back feel like a hypodermic injection almost suffocating the air within my lungs. They massage my neck whilst pressing it down with tremendous force into the pillow then proceed to slide onto my back. I can feel no weight at all of this presence on my body except the strength of cold hands that press firmly into my lower back. All the time I am looking through the eyes of the spirit, looking down at me. Yet I am in me feeling the sensation of me try to kill me. Suddenly it all ends as it had started and I am left wondering whether I have finally gone mad.
I get up and look around me for some kind of evidence that I am not dreaming, that all that I have experienced is real. The only thing that is noticeably different is the spot which it had touched me on my back and neck which now feels as though chilled ice packs have been wrapped around them for months. I am free, I am a new me and the pain of the night before is gone or rather gone for at least a short while.
This is how it all started. I suffer from back pain. When this comes as it did the night before this experience it sears through my ribs each time I try to move, it is an ache that starts at the lower part of my back and strikes out defiantly like lightning until just below my neck. Sometimes I can barely walk or even shout for the commotion sends a wail of tearful jabs through my back which make me breathless.
I don’t believe that today I am completely cured from this back ache as placing strain on my back still stirs up old bolts of lightning pain. However I am certain of one thing and that is no matter what illness we suffer or what personal strain we endure our Lord can reach us at anytime and any place especially least of all where we expect him to.
