NaNoWriMo Day 19: 37,423 Words

I realized to today that just having your characters positioned does not mean they will do anything interesting!
My major hurdle today was writing through how to get my characters to do something interesting now that they are all in the right place at the right time.

I almost pulled out the "have the biographer" interview the character trick that I have been keeping in reserve. While it might work, it would be artificial at this point in the exercise. I can see where I might be able to use it with the rewrite.

It turns out that my main character can't stop bragging about herself -- definitely high on the Pride side. I let her talk for a while and eventually we got there. Much of this I fear will end up on the cutting room floor. Oh well -- on to 39,000 words -- maybe well into the 40,000s by the end of the weekend.
