I recently quit smoking cigarettes after forty years. I did it with electronic cigarettes. It delivers the nicotine, (and only the nicotine,) to me via a vaporizer.
I’ve still smoked real cigarettes since, but far less than before. I had a pack a day habit, and suffered chronic Bronchitis since I began smoking. There is one thing though, and my therapist, who is a recovering smoker confirmed. He said, “Yeah, I tried those E-Cigs for a while, but when you quit smoking those regular cigarettes you don’t get the same head rush as with commercial smokes.”
I noticed this as well. I haven’t talked with any other E-Cig users, but I have had firsthand experience.
Cigarette companies add something to their product that enhances, or speeds up the processes of nicotine crossing the blood-brain barrier to give the user an immediate rush of nicotine. You might relate this to the new age of delivery systems, like the vaporizers for smoking marihuana.
What else are they doing in secret under the protection of lobbyists? I wonder why the tobacco companies are not subject to the FDA regulations about listing the ingredients of its product on the label, as is required for Ramen Noodles?
