Honoring 12/12/12 - the importance of being present to the intersection and messages of dreams and waking. After my recent "Dream of Shiva" (see today's poem), I had this amazing experience at a local Starbucks, which helps explain the dream. [Spirit Connections] While in line at Starbuck’s, the woman behind me says, “Finesse, not power!” I turn toward her, repeating her phrase, commenting on how lovely it is. She nods to her son who is sitting at the nearby window, explaining to me that she often says this to him so that he learns there are alternatives to brute strength as he’s growing up. I thank her for her contribution during this time of the rising feminine, which is countering the extremes of the masculine. She says, “well, I don’t know about that – I just don’t want him to break my stuff!” They leave the coffee shop, passing by the window where my partner and I are now sitting – the son glances up with a question in his eyes as he meets my steady gaze - I give him a cautionary nod.
