I usually post my blog interviews first thing in the morning, but I've been laid up with the stomach flu this weekend, so I'm going to post Herman's interview today and tomorrow. Now, as for Herman himself, he is the first person who reached out to me on Author's Den and gave me some great advice on how to reach out to people. As you can see from the amount of publications in his repertoire, I would be a fool not to listen to him! He is currently working on another book dedicated to his mother, which in itself is a beautiful remembrance. I hope you enjoy meeting Herman as much as I did!

Why are you an Author?
I am an author because I’ve had a passion for writing since I was a kid. I attended missionary Catholic Schools since elementary school, and got the best nuns who taught me ‘The queens English.’ I then proceeded to attend Temple University where I specialized in Linguistics.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by The Written Word. Since the time I was able to read, I have been inspired to read almost anything on site. From magazines, novels and worth not. I sometimes read aloud to myself…especially poetry.
Where and what times during the day do you work best?
I work best in the quiet of a large space. My first books were drafted while I sat on the beach in Daytona, Florida, with sound of the waves basking in the background.
Who is your target audience?
Since I write in multiple genre, my target audience varies according to the subject matter. Statistics show that my works tend to appeal to and audience ranging from leisure readers, to folks seeking a Teaching Moment.’
How do you want your readers to feel as they read your book?
I like my readers to feel like they cannot put my books down until they have read the whole story. I keep my plot unpredictable; more like movie material.
You write for many different genres. Do you have a favorite? Are some easier than others?
Biographies are always easier to write than creative or educational books because a true biography is a narrative, dealing with facts as you recall them.
Why did you decide to write an autobiography?
I wrote an autobiography because I thought I had had an eventful life, and thought it would interest others to read and maybe, learn something about this author.
Are you currently working on another book or project?
Yes, I am constantly working on one project or the other. My next book is titled: “Letters From Mom” – A dedication to my beloved mother who lives in Heaven.
What is one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
Aspiring authors must understand that while everyone has a story to tell, modern day readers are very picky, and have a wide array of sources to choose from.
Share one thing about yourself that you would like readers to know.
Don’t judge a book by it’s color, read the whole thing!
