Only my opinion. I am speaking as an American, neither white nor black, but American. Over the past few days the sons of Dr. Martin Luther King have decided that money is worth more than history and reverence. It seems that the boys want to sell their father's bible and Nobel Peace Prize medal.
In my opinion these items belong to the people and not to some collector, so he can say, "Look what I've got," and possibly one day wind up on "Pawn Stars.
I don't know the personal history of these two, but I have observed their actions in the past regarding their father's legacy, and concluded they are just cashing in.
I can't say whether or not they have ever held a job in the past or just ridden the coat tails of their famous father.
I feel sorry for their sister who understands the pricelessness of these items.
This only goes to show me that something priceless, and so relevant to history can be tossed aside so easily for material gain and avarice.
Maybe they are out of money and these items are the last things of worth they haven't plundered already, with no regard for Dr. King's legacy.
This is very saddening to me indeed..........It also shows me something... "not about the color of their skin, but the content of their character."
