On a stroll through the woods,

sun shimmering, splashing

leaves of heavenly hues…

Their colors so new that

they’d not yet been named…

The old St Joe River,

flowed swift to my right,

constant and sure

in an uncertain world.

A crisp gust of wind,

and an oak shed its cloak….

Soaring geese in formation

honked their farewells…

I gazed at it all

feeling trivial, minute…

In the grand scheme of things

I am naught.

Could the God who

arrayed that glorious display

love, care and

think about me?

Then from inside my soul

came a deep calming voice,

assuring this child

that He does.
