Depression
5/11/2015 2:28:56 PM

When we have no one to turn to.
It is a terrible feeling, a lost feeling when one feels as if the people we love more than life itself seem to think we are out to use them, or are jealous of their good fortune in life. Especially when it is immediate family. The people we love the most and have given them as children everything, provided for them, even did without so they would not. We did it out of love without question. We are actually overjoyed for them, but they only see what they want to see. To love their spouse's and only wanting to have that love returned in a small way with respect and consideration, nothing more. It is so heart breaking when our bubble is burst, and we realize that the spouse's we love seem to not love us at all. Yes, it is so heartbreaking. Most of us want to love our children' partners. But all we can try to do is continue to show the love and hope someday they will realize we meant no harm. No one is perfect, not them or us. But if they think and don't want us involved because we may ask for help whether it is financial or physical. Maybe they don't want to believe that is not what we want. Parents try hard not to ask of their children. Mind you as children my siblings and I never waited for our parents to have to ask, we pretty much new when they needed help. Never did they need to ask, we were there always, we seemed to always know when they were low on funds or groceries. We did this also for each other, we tried hard to help and not let them do without. We remembered our parents gave us their all, we did not mind being there for them. It is so sad that today in this generation, they forget so much. Sure they love us very much, but sadly they are blind to the needs of their senior parents.
Yes they know they come with us, no matter how old we get. They are our babies and always will be. We will always be there for them until the day we pass on. We did and will continue to help them and be there for them and their children in every way we can, because we love them with our heart and souls. We don't usually ask for anything in return. We never look back and say "you owe me my son or daughter." We never look for repayment for everything we have done in the past or the present for them. Why? because we love them. They are our babies. We as parents never counted every penny or the time we spent on them. We did it out of love. I personally do not want payback, all I want to for to acknowledge the fact that we are getting older and sometimes just maybe we need help, not just financially but there are so many other ways to help.
But as a parent, I refuse to ask, just to be put off by them.
So if there are any other older parents who feel the way I do please feel comfortable enough to talk to me on the matter here on this blog. Yes I have to say today has been a very depressing day for me. Sure I have them now and then, but I fight to stay above the depression, and yes some days it a fight, but thank God I do get through it most of the time. This blog has certainly helped today. God bless anyone who suffers from depression, my love goes out to each and everyone of you.
