The Lord's Prayer was given as an example for Chrstians by Christ Himself in the New Testament. What does it mean to you? THE PERFECT PRAYER GIVEN AS AN EXAMPLE FOR US
Salutation and address: Our Father who lives in heaven
Acknowledgement of Authority:
You are Holy, Divine, Transcendent, Omniscient, Omnipresent, perfect sacred love, to be respected above all, Creator, all-knowing, perfect intellect, giving, forgiving, worthy of worship, adoration, to be magnified, respected, awesome, goodness beyond understanding, righteous and fair above all..
May Your Will be Done:
May all be according to Your desire for our good including our direction, purpose, protection, healing, salvation, relationships, glorifying you in our bodies. We trust You with all of these.
On Earth as it is in Heaven:
May Earth one day be as heaven;; the perfect place to dwell, care for , learn from about the cosmos and all good things; an atmosphere of peace, love, harmony, and worship of You.
Give us today our daily needs:
Help us live one day at a time and not worry about tomorrow but only plan according to Your will. We trust You to give us mental and emotional stability; moral guidance, wisdom, physical health and knowledge; fill our need for spiritual communion with You; give us discipline to do all these things for Your sake to glorify You only and not ourselves.
Forgive us our sins:
When we have missed the mark that witnesses for You, forgive us. When we have failed to love, forgive us. If we don’t remember our mistakes, forgive us. Forgive those things we can’t seem to get beyond. They are not cherished sins because we hate them. They are bad habits imprinted on her minds after decades of giving in. Change our direction, renew our damaged minds. Thank You for saving us because of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus; for His righteousness before You instead of our selfish attempts to be “good.”
As we forgive others their sins against us:
Help us practice and develop the empathy that comes with maturity. Move us beyond words of forgiveness to being authentic about it. Grow us closer to perfection of character as we age. This is not perfection of behavior or even all thoughts, but perfection in who we are and how we reflect the love of Jesus. We can be perfect wherever we are in life if we are growing.
Do not lead us unto temptation:
Keep us from tests and trials in life; we are weak and not like our Savior tested by the Devil in the desert. Turn us away from temptations of all kinds.
But deliver us from the evil one: Put a rock wall around us O Rock of our Salvation for the Devil goes about to devour Your people. Protect us from all our fears; heal us and deliver us from all the ways the devil can destroy us. You are love; he is hate.
For Yours is the kingdom of Your people and You are in power and glorify us all through Your Glory forever.
In the name of the One you sent to redeem us, Jesus the Messiah of us all, called Yeshua.
