When writing a book, one thing that many authors say is to find a gap in the market; with many genres, most such gaps have been used many times over- so what gaps can there be for new aspiring authors?
This is a question I had to ask myself before writing my first sci-fi book, since this is a genre that has many books continually written in all possible categories and ages.
The answer I eventually realised was to just write about what I enjoy and love.
