Dereliction of Duty, Negligence or Both Regarding Coronavirus (COVID-10) 4/29/2020 8:29:26 AM
Thoughts on leading during a pandemic Should President Trump be charged with dereliction of duty, negligence or both when responding to COVID-19 pandemic?
By not impeaching him earlier, knowing that his professionalism/stewardship was less than desirable, our Nation is now suffering greatly.
President Trump said, “It's going away in the Spring; it will get to fifteen and magically go away.”
Greater than 58,000 COVID-19 deaths later, the country is still dealing with this infectious disease. There is no known cure or vaccine. Yet, the President, not a medical physician or scientist, continues to provide what he believes are solutions to the problem. His latest is for people to “inject disinfectant into the body and use ultraviolet lights.” Later he discounted his words saying, “I was being sarcastic.”
His job is to protect and serve this Country, not make light of this very serious health issue.
Proactive pandemic preparation wasn't implemented timely, and on-going measures seem to be helter-skelter so as not to offend the President. Who in their right mind would remove a world-renowned vaccine scientist during a pandemic?
If this were private industry, the President and his administration would all have been fired. His number one responsibility was to do no harm!
