Even in these perilous times ending to rescue and during a pandemic, there have been times where it’s not the first time we’ve suffered. We serve a merciful and caring God, one we can call a second chance one where the wherewithal for Him to rescue and protect us from danger. Psalms 91 surely is an edict bordering on who is the helm ready to give umbrage to the times we live in. I can’t help but harken back to one of the definitive statements that says via Scripture, “He that dwellers in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” WOW! What a profound entity to evoke and embrace in times of hardship. Who can deny the disastrous results of the Covid-19 virus? Too many people have died because of it. The angels of destruction will not have it other than to make it hard for Christians who know the Lord. On a personal note, I wanted to pay homage to this Scripture simply because I see it as a source of comfort and protection in my suffering days recovering from the virus.
I admit having a rough go of it with blood clots traveling from my lower extremities to both of my lungs. In the interim I was given a heparin drip to break up the massive clots in my lungs which contributed to my muscles in my legs atrophying and developing nerve damage. I’m in a wheelchair applying organized physical therapy to walk again. Will I? You can bet your bottom dollar that I will. I have too much confidence in this Psalm knowing that the purpose for persevering is awash with admonishment of what must be done…and that is placing trust in the Lord that He will make it better as long as trust and obedience is in your ways and means. It’s a message of hope with the aforementioned Coronavirus sweeping across almost all borders where fear and anxiety has gripped hearts around the world. No one seems safe any more with the wearing of masks has become the norm. Soluble solutions are here if one takes refuge in this important Psalm as I have!
