More scams

I wonder sometimes how many author scammers there are and whether there's a chat room online where they get together and vote on which book they'll hawk in a particular week. For me, last week was Remake the Song. This week it's the short story collection Four for Texas. Last week it was scammers purporting to be from major publishers. I sent the emails to the publishers (they all have fraud divisions) but got a little ticked when one wrote back with a list of things they wanted me to do, including dealing with the Properties setting and some other computer-ey thingee. Sorry but I've wasted enough time on this stuff. You have tech people. I sent you what I had. I think from now one I'll stick to red flagging, hitting phishing, and deleting. No money is being exchanged (i'm not that stupid) and I see no reason to involve the FBI who have enough to deal with. It IS kind of fun to read these glowing letters though. Just wish they'd at least take the time to leave a review from one of their 4,000 book club members
