What Year Is It?

1.      What year is it? – 2017

What is it based on? – Birth of Jesus

Why did this world choose the birth of Jesus as the measuring point for our calendars?  What did He do that caused such a great recognition?

This is world-wide accepted proof that Jesus Christ existed and that He changed the world.  There has never been another like Him.

ONLY ONE LIFE

No one has changed the world and people’s lives like Jesus has.

No leader has been as powerful or lasted as long as Jesus Christ.

If Jesus Christ is so distinctive, special, noted as to receive such recognition, what should be our attitude towards Him? (What would be your attitude towards some sports figure, government leader or celebrity that you admire?)

Matthew 28:20 – I want to challenge and fuel your love for Jesus and a passion to want to know Him more.

2.      What made the United State the great nation it has been?

Christian influence on our government cannot be denied.

Four times, the Declaration of Independence makes reference to God as the ultimate higher power.  Our Constitution rests first on the ultimate superior authority of God as the ultimate reigning leader.  Indeed, no government can succeed without an ultimate belief in God as the sovereign and higher authority.

3.      Who is greater than Jesus Christ?

What person, in the history of the entire earth has done more to change the world and make mankind’s life better than what Jesus did?  What scientist, inventor, King or ruler, celebrity or entertainer has done for mankind anything compared to what Jesus did?

My desire to is to ignite, enflame, build to the point of action – a passion in you to want to know Jesus better and share His life and teachings with others.

What should you do to show that you recognize who He is and show your allegiance to Him?

4.      When you admire someone – a celebrity – sports figure, politician, entertainer – you want to know all about them.

If you recognize Jesus as your LORD and Savior, how do you believe you should relate to Him?  Is Jesus your “celebrity”?  Is there something in you that wants to know ALL about Him?

5.      How many people call themselves citizens of the United States but don’t know what the Declaration of Independence , Constitution or Bill of Rights say?  They can’t speak English, don’t want to abide by our laws and try to impose and force their laws (and religion) on us.  Yet they want to be called Americans.

How many people call themselves Christians and claim to follow Jesus Christ, but have never engaged beyond a sermon or 13 week study to learn what Jesus taught and did?  They continue in their sinful behavior and try to justify it instead of seeing if it is in harmony with what God teaches.

Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, your LORD, Savior and role model?

Do you believe that studying the life and teachings of Jesus is essential to being a true follower of Him?

Do you believe that studying Jesus’ life and teachings will change your life for the better?

Do you believe that churches that study and follow Jesus will be stronger, more Christ-like in their ministries?

Do you believe that others also will benefit from studying every event in Jesus’ life and teachings?

That being the case, shouldn’t we want to study His Jesus’ life and teachings to become more like Him?  Would you like to be more knowledgeable of what Jesus taught and did so you could be like him and teach others?  Walking With Jesus is a Bible Study of every event in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.  Revelation 2:4-5

Most of the people I have talked to agree that the crisis that our nation is currently in is not a political one or even an economic one.

Our root problem is a spiritual one. We have gotten away from following Jesus Christ.
