Thinking nothing would come of it (note to self, be more positive) I entered my second novel, Faith Hope and Clarity, for the NABA Pinnacle Awards this summer.
I have to confess that I sat on the edge of my seat waiting to hear for a while but as time passed and no emails had arrived, my thoughts turned to other things and I completely forgot about it. Then, totally out of the blue I heard that it had won an award in the Fiction category.
I can't really describe my delight. I had never, in my wildest dreams expected this and now, although it still seems incredible, I can call myself and award winning author and have stickers to adorn the front cover of my novel (see photo)
Faith Hope and Clarity is the second in a series of four novels all based in the same medical centre. It is in essence a love story, an easy read with characters you can relate to but encompasses a common problem that is rarely spoken about - that of using food as a reward or punishment. So many people I know do this, to a greater or lesser degree that it's well past the time when it should be written about.
My third novel is on its way. Thank you to Guy Boulianne and Editions Dedicaces for believing in me and taking me on. None of this would have happened without you.
