One must leave everything behind at the Gate, including the ego. One has to sub-mit, for-give, for-get, fore-go, and enter empty-handed with palms up and open to received whatever is in store. This is nearly impossible to do in the First World with its emphasis on private divisions of accumulated property corresponding to inflated individual egos that suffer the modern malease of paranoia, at once grand and base - even in baseness so grand to be persecuted by all others.
