4. The Whistleblower - This obvious-named film about a UN operative who discovers a sex-trafficking ring in Bosnia couldn't live up to its own incredible story. The movie is disjointed, but the case its based on is unbelievable.

5. Silkwood - This Meryl Streep classic about the life of Karen Silkwood, a woman who exposed the wrongdoing of the plutonium plant she works in, is said to be the perfect example of a successful whistleblower movie. And of course, it has Meryl Streep.

6. Erin Brockovich -  Another iconic tale and career-defining performance, Julia Robert's portrayal of a single mother fighting for justice against corporate greed is another amazing story of whistleblowing.

7. The Constant Gardner -  A giant pharmaceutical company conducting dangerous tests on impoverished children? Yes, definitely a movie about whistleblowing. And the acting is superb.

8. Michael Clayton - These whistleblowers weren't all perfect scions of goodness. The characters in this twisting tale had a depth that isn't often seen in movies about corruption and corporate cover-ups.
