This film has epic dimensions of the AIDS victims in the world of amateur boxing. At the beginning of the epidemic in the 1980s the Cuban government drastically quarantined infected patients in a sanatorium. Companions were assigned the patients. The boxer was paired with a veteran of Cuba's effort to help the Congolese colonial revolution.
